About Mid-Autumn Festival
Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Moon Festival, is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture; its popularity is on par with that of Chinese New Year.
The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese Luna calendar with a full moon at night. On this day, the Chinese believe that the Moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn.
Families get together and celebrate under the full moon. Lanterns of all size and shapes are displayed for a preoperative future. Mooncakes are traditionally eaten during this festival.
Many other countries in East-Asia and Pacific regions also celebrate this holiday.
We will have Moon cakes and Chinese tea for you to taste, as well as Chinese culture showcases and free Tai Chi practice. Bring your family and friends and your favorite dish to share. Let's share some good memories underneath the full moon.
